Quick Start Guide
-
Calculate your beam loads. Include line and point loads applied to the beam in the floor plan for each load case.
The self-weight of the beam is automatically calculated by the software.
-
Clear local data. Click the Bin icon in the toolbar to remove any previously saved browser data.
-
Set up the beam layout. Enter the number of spans.
-
Enter span lengths. Fill in the main table with each span length, and tick the Cantilever boxes for any end spans where applicable.
-
Define your sections. Click the Sections icon to open the section dialog. Choose the required material, section size, and design criteria.
When ready, click Insert — the section will automatically appear in the main table. Then close the dialog.
-
Select sections. In the main table, choose your defined sections under the “Section” column.
-
Add loads. Click the Loads icon, select a load case and span, then click Apply.
(Note: negative values represent downward loads.)
-
Run analysis. Click the Analysis icon, select a load case or combination, and view the results.
You can define new load cases or combinations from the Load Cases menu.
